cartoon technique - Lightwave Just to demonstrate that it's not all serious-minded technicality... Three stills from the short, frantic life of 'Mr. Blob', to accord him his proper designation. The sequence arose from time I donated on behalf of an Australian childrens' charity. Their contracted illustrator needed cartoon animations to accompany his workbook drawings, and I stepped in with a 3D animation of the character, using Lightwave & its bones and cell-shader, plus some refinements in post. I've not done much in the way of advanced character animation, but I persuaded this mesh to leap onto camera, bounce up and down, utter a lip-synched / rotoscoped cartoon chipmunk-style witticism, and exit like a Slinky on amphetamines in compelling fashion. I suspect Zebedee would have approved. Boing Boing!!!
